How to use this product

Pull in the direction of the arrow to open the sterilized package, and take out the "STEPTY™". Turn the side with the transparent film upward, and pull from the center of the removal area of the film for easy opening.

Match the longer side of the pad with the direction of the vessel just before pulling out the needle or the catheter. Place the centre of the pad onto the insertion site of the needle or the catheter, and tape it on slightly.

Press the pad lightly with your thumb and take out the needle or catheter.

As you pull out the needle or catheter, put firm pressure on the pad with your thumb.

Press the pad firmly and keep it still while you stretch the adhesive tape out to the length of your thumb and securely attach it to the skin.

Be careful not to move the pad as you replace the pressurizing thumb with your other thumb, and continue to apply firm pressure.

Continue to apply firm pressure to secure the pad while you stretch the other adhesive tape to the length of your thumb, and securely attach it to the skin.

The diagrams show images of "STEPTY™" after being applied. The pad is securely covered with the tapes.

Specifications
Key features
  • Features of the pad area
6 mm thick. A sufficient hemostatic effect is achieved by the pressure applied through the secure fastening of the adhesive tapes.
Oval-shaped, 27 mm long. The tape covers the gap between the access site of the skin and the vessels, to stop the bleeding of the vessels with angiopressure. The oval-shape helps soothe skin irritation.

  • The first layer, which has direct contact with the skin, is made from an extremely thin non-woven cellulose fabric which instantly absorbs the blood. The tape area consists of a non-woven polyester fabric with water repellent properties, preventing blood discharges to the back of the tape.

  • Features of the package
Each tape is individually sterilized before packaging.
    Easy opening, simple removal.
Sanitary procedures: no need to touch the pad (which eventually has direct contact with the punctured skin) from the opening of the package to the application of the tape.

  • Features of the adhesive area
Made from a non-woven urethane fabric which is flexible and extends well in all directions. Its extension recovery rate exceeds 90%, making it perfect for pressure immobilization.
High adhesive power, secure retention and sticking. (Fig 2)
By stretching the 39 mm × 80 mm sized tape to a moderate length, the pad can be securely bound from four directions to avoid becoming detached. (Fig 3)

  • Features of the package
Each tape is individually sterilized before packaging.
    Easy opening, simple removal.
All procedures are hygienic; there is no need to touch the pad (which eventually has direct contact with the punctured skin) from the opening of the package to the application of the tape. (Fig 4)
